I grew up post school integration. It was new, yes, but not dramatic in the streets in Columbia. Thankfully, most of my teachers up through high school were Black, males and females. I am grateful for them all. All around me, my family and friends worked in all types of industries: the service industry, military, restaurant industry, science, technology, teaching, insurance, trucking, medicine, state government, entrepreneurship, and large manufacturing, etc.
No matter what is all around me, even today I still need mentors and sponsors to maneuver through the mind games and systems that are set up to defeat me or exploit me. You do too.
