In America, if you are of black and white mixed-race parentage and you call yourself black, nobody will say a thing. If you are of black and white mixed-race parentage and you call yourself white, white people will deny you and black people will say you are denying yourself. If you think about it, you will know that this mentality is a vestige of slavery. All people are black people; some just have lighter skin color and other phenotypical variations. All of these variations, by the way, are recessive genetic traits.
